Both Humanities Pods are completing, refining and providing their final drafts for our poetry unit.
We have begun working on our Final Project which is a Spoken Word piece about one's personal passion. This can be accompanied by music/song, art, video, or other genre of expression. Rough Drafts are Due Friday, February 2nd. Final works Due Friday, February 9th

Exhibition ideas Over the past few days, both Pod have viewed and discussed multi-media projects that demonstrate individuals utilizing poetry, video and their voice to express their passions.
In the spirit of these examples, we will be concluding our Poetry section by creating our own individual works that are intended to exude the same passion, depth and sense of purpose. Students will be allowed to incorporate art, video, music and other mediums that can accompany and enhance their written/spoken creations. POD 1: Videos about Harassment and Consent were viewed and discussed. One of the amazing gifts my students in both POD's bring to the classroom every day is their ability, willingness and conviction to use their voice. The culture of respect, safety and compassion I see in my students during these moments are the reason I teach and the fuel that keeps my fire burning strong & bright. Pod 1: Students read their poems: "I Have A Dream" based on MLK's historic and timeless speech.
